Premiering last night on Spike’s Scream Awards was the new trailer for Tim Burton’s upcoming Alice In Wonderland adaptation from Disney.  It just occurred to me that in the next six months, we’ll be getting some new interpretations from Disney of their most classic films, between this and A Christmas Carol (Mickey’s Christmas Carol is still one of the best adaptations of the story, I think).

Alice in Wonderland – Extended Trailer

Alice in Wonderland is due out March 5th in Digital 3D and IMAX, and stars a whole crap ton of people, including Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, and whoever the heck plays Alice!

  1. I had heard it was a sequel as well and of the two factions, but dismissed that as absolutely ridiculous. If anyone is going to have an army to fight the red queen, it would be the white queen, not the hatter. The hatter gets far more attention than he deserves, not just in the movie, but in the public’s perception of the story as a whole. I wonder why that is.

  2. I do have to admit that I love the Muppet Christmas Carol. Hmmm…must seek out the DVD.

I’ve heard this was a sequel, where the Mad Hatter’s army fights the Red Queen’s army (or some such)…but then again, Alice seems like she’s experiencing all this for the first time…so…who knows?

  3. The Muppet Christmas Carol is by far the best Christmas Carol movie ever made.

As for this Alice, the trailer seems to paint the hatter as a much more relevant character than he is. I hope that’s just to capitalize on Depp’s stardom and not a genuine reflection of how the movie will be told.
