Luke Meyer’s The Monster at GenCon

The first game I played at GenCon was out-freakin’-standing. The Podge Cast’s Luke Meyer ran five of us through a new scenario of his design for White Wolf’s Hunter: The Vigil. So much fun.

The game opens as five hunters, the player characters, return to their safe house in the country complete with a captured vampire. Our mission? Figure out what to do with him.

Meyer added a social combat mechanic ala The Burning Wheel that rocked balls.

I won’t ruin anything for folks playing the game after me, but I will say that my character wound up shooting one player character dead, besting another in social combat, and being nearly blasted in half by a third.

Hella-fun.

Meyer expects to release the scenario as a free PDF on the Podge Cast site (podgecast.com).
