Holy crapola!  Funnybooks is turning 200!!!!  And, this episode was recorded on the FOUR YEAR ANNIVERSARY of the release of our very first episode.  Listen as we reminisce about our first couple of episodes, then we forgo our usual format in favor of talking about some of our favorite moments and comics in this super-sized 200th episode of FUNNYBOOKS!

  • Paul and Aron’s First Time – July 6, 2009
  • Our favorite Funnybooks moments.
  • Some of our favorite comics/stories/arcs since we’ve been hosting Funnybooks.
  • How do we feel about the comic industry today? What would we like to see happen?
  • What else would we like to happen within the next 100 episodes of Funnybooks?
  • What if we were writing…our ideal comic book? What character(s)? Who would be the artist?
  • What would we hand to someone to get them into comics? Or, perhaps, even better, what comic would we hand someone to show them what we love about comics?

Come celebrate four years and 200 episodes with us!

  1. Advice taken now twitter bound… wish me luck I think I just found Paul talk about a Star Trek Aegean flashback!

  2. If you follow us on twitter, you know a little about our comic con feelings, but yeah we have to talk about some of the items ont he show.

  3. So any chance you’ll review what happened at the San Diego Comic Con 2013?

Especially want to know your thoughts on the revelations regarding the Guardians of the Galaxy and Karen Gillan!

  4. With the latest posting on the Strain it sounds like you guys need to polish up those artefacts, get those spandex outfits bagged up and move out to New York to sort out some vampirism!

Maybe Wayne can explain to them what a proper vampire looks like?

  5. Great show guys. That was a really fun listen.
I’m glad that Andrew will be able to be in on the live play episodes since they’re already in the can. New KoR on the way! Woohoo!

Oh, and I found a super detailed replica of the Dreadnaught Class (U.S.S. Vengeance) from ST:ID.
It’s likely out of the range of, well, everyone, but we do get some nice pictures of it. I’m sure we’ll get more pics as production of the model progresses. It was a similar pattern for the Serenity model.

  6. So since you did a review of World War Z, does that mean a review of Pacific Rim is on the horizon?

Oh and may I add another option for the next 100 funnybooks with more Wayne?

Don’t actually know anything about Atomic Robo or Common Grounds though… well thats the new year resolution sorted out!
