geek_omnivore.fwWelcome, welcome, welcome. After a dry week with little, I guess I made up for it this week. Shall we get right to it? (I think we shall.. ;))
Arrow LogoWe start with Arrow Season 3 Episode 16 “The Offer”. This episode is a prime example of why I think when the show started, it should’ve been a show about Batman just starting out after his return from training as opposed to the Green Arrow. The over-all themes, plots, and such could remain the same, but the exact characters would be different. The writers have proven with their skill that they could’ve tied it to the Batman mythos just as easily as they have to Oliver Queen. It’s a shame that they didn’t. Ra’s al Ghul wanting anyone other than Bruce Wayne to be his successor just seems hollow. Then episode 17 “Suicidal Tendencies” – Okay, there’s got to be more to this than meets the eye. Why give the background on Deadshot if you’re just killing him off. I anticipate we’ll be seeing more of him in the future, and I’m okay with that. Also, I’d love for Brandon Routh to guest on The Flash and let DC’s Iron Man and Barry team up. The Atom just seems like he’d fit in better on the lighter tone of The Flash than Arrow.

Welcome back to the Queue Catchup! Despite my busy schedule and an emergency potentially involving a home insurance claim, I’ve watched a good amount this week.

So, what is it that I’ve been watching? Let’s start with the streaming service I use the least (only because I’m the least familiar with it) Amazon Prime.

amazonprimeMy significant other, the man-thing, started up the show Grimm. Now, this is a show that I remember watching the first episode of when it began, but at the time had too many things filling up our DVR, so it fell by the wayside (I’ll have to have a post one day about all the shows I let let slip by me . . . Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, The Blacklist to name a few)

Season 1, Episodes 1 and 2 of Grimm were interesting. the premise, as near as I can tell is that there are the monsters from the Brother’s Grimm Fairy Tales and there are people who hunt them. I like the idea of the premise, and from two episodes I saw it looks to be a show that could get lumped together with shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I plan to watch more.

Welcome one and all to this first post in what I hope comes to be a regular and long running addition to the ideology of some people’s madness. I want to introduce myself and let you all know what to expect from me.

My name is Andrea, sometimes called Omne, and you can find me on Twitter under @Geek_Omnivore. I love all geeky, nerdy and or dorky things. Science Fiction, Fantasy, Pulp, Movies, TV Shows, Books, Games, Comics . . . if it’s out there, I think it’s fantastic. Alright, I’m not necessarily the biggest fan of some things (Horror, Psychological type or the gore-fests), but I don’t think that just because I don’t love it makes it any less worthy of being loved by someone.

I watch a good amount of TV. When Paul and Aron made the call out on their Funnybooks podcast for writers for the website I thought, “Well, I could always try…” So this is my attempt. My goal is to periodically post what I’ve been watching and my thoughts about it.
