Want to be an Executive Producer?

I’m debating this so bad…but I think that my desire to have my name pop up in the credits of a theatrically released movie will far surpass any power I give to my need to save money during the holiday season.  Full Moon Pictures, the company behind the Puppet Master and Gingerdead Man series, is offering the opportunity to be an Executive Producer on their next film, Evil Bong 3D: The Wrath of Bong, which will be released (in limited release) theatrically next year.

All you have to do is buy a $200 gift card to the Full Moon store.  You get the Executive Producer credit, a poster for the movie signed by the cast, and your $200 gift card automatically resets every year for the next two years…so you actually get $600 in merchandise.

Want to see PUPPET MASTER for free?

puppet_masterHow could you not want to?  The iconic classic, from Full Moon Pictures masermind Charles Band, is now available to view, in FULL, for FREE at Hulu!  If you’re one of the few folks out there who don’t know what Puppet Master is about…

In the 1930s, a puppeteer summoned magical powers from ancient Egypt to bring his dolls to life. He then subsequently committed suicide. In the present, another suicide at the same Bodega Bay Hotel brings a group of psychics together to find and destroy the newly reanimated and murderous puppets.

The film has quite a loyal following, and with good reason.  It’s quite a special little film, and, despite its low budget, still pretty darn good.

Charles Band's Full Moon Horror Roadshow 2009!

When I interviewed Full Moon Studios creator Charles Band back in April (read it here), he told me that, due to his goal of getting a movie out once a month for the rest of the year, that he probably would not be doing his awesome and popular FULL MOON HORROR ROADSHOW in 2009.  If you haven’t attended one of these events, you’re totally missing out.  Even if you’re not a fan, or don’t know much about Full Moon Studios movies (and seriously, who hasn’t at least seen Puppet Master or Pit and the Pendulum), there’s a ton to like here for anyone who just enjoys fun movies and horror films.  When I went to the Full Moon Roadshow in Charlotte last year, there was much talk of Evil Bongs and Poon-Tang tribes, naked women in cages, Monster bras, and Gary Busey.  We had a blast (and they serve liquor :-) ).

This year, Ideology of Madness (namely me) will definitely be attending the October 17th date in Richmond, VA (assuming that the dates on that calendar stick – you know things are subject to change), and man…we’ve got some great ideas for you guys!  We will definitely be giving away some tickets for the event and anyone attending the event in an Ideology of Madness t-shirt (didn’t know we had t-shirts?  Click here!) will get a free movie of their choosing !  How cool is that?

I know I’m a little late on posting this, but friend of IoM Charles Band, who we’re a huge fan of here at IoM, has been posting DAILY vidcasts from the set of Full Moon Feature’s newest production Puppet Master: Axis of Evil!  Yes, the newest entry in the awesome Puppet Master franchise appears to once again be set in WWII and, from what I’m seeing, may be Full Moon’s biggest production in a while, with some very elaborate sets.

Some pretty awesome news there, including the fact that Gingerdead Man 3, which I thought was going to be called Roller Boogieman, is now Saturday Night Cleaver.  The biggest news, of course, is that filming is set to begin on Puppet Master: Axis of Evil.  When I spoke with Charles Band, it looked like a pretty ambitious project, and I’m definitely psyched to see a new Puppet Master movie!

King Bong is Coming!!!

Evil Bong 2: King Bong!That’s right guys!  Just got word from Full Moon Features that Evil Bong II: King Bong will be in our greasy little hands on July 7th, 2009!  Check out what they had to say….

The world premier of King Bong: Evil Bong 2 took place earlier this year on April 20th at the Ultra Suede Nightclub in West Hollywood, CA. Along with veteran horror film makers, rising YouTube ceWebrities The Killer Dolls were introduced to the audience and interviewed guests for one of their future webisodes. In addition to cast and crew, E! News Now anchor Amy Paffrath, who plays King Bong character Velicity, was present. Full Moon Features has announced the official release date for KING BONG: EVIL BONG 2. On July 7th, 2009 King Bong will be available at all major video retailer outlets and Blockbuster. Warner Digital will be distributing the film for North America on Pay Per View, including Comcast and At&t U-Verse. Both King Bong and the original Evil Bong, featuring Tommy Chong, will be available at fullmoondirect.com and iTunes. As promised on the box cover, the film is in 3D… if you’re stoned!

IoM Interview: Full Moon Pictures Founder CHARLES BAND!!!!

Charles Band - Creator of Full Moon PicturesI was a little nervous to interview Charles Band, founder and main dude at Full Moon Pictures.  See, we’ve interviewed some very cool guys here at IoM – the Zenescope guys, Mac Carter, Michael Murphey from iVerse, Mike Bullock of The Phantom…but I’ve been trying to set up something with Charles Band since we started IoM.  I’m a HUGE fan, and have been for twenty years now (wow…I’m old).  So, as you can probably tell from the good number of Full Moon stories lately, plus the fact that we’re now a Full Moon affiliate…I’m a big fan.

We bounced back and forth the other day on the phone a bit.  I mean, let’s be honest, the dude is SUPER busy.  He’s trying to get his next film, Evil Bong 2: King Bong completed for a premiere by April 20th, and he just got back from Italy literally days before our interview where they filmed TWO movies.  Still, as the hold music came on and I realized it was the theme from Puppet Master, I was all set to talk to the man himself, Charles Band, and we had a pretty great interview where I learned some stuff I’d NEVER heard before, including some news on the next iterations of Puppet Master and Subspecies!
