psychonauts-2

It's like Risk, only fun.

About ten years ago, there was a phenomon known as the adventure game.  Lucas Atrs popped most of the better ones out with the Mokey Island franchise, Grim Fandango and Full Throttle, but ever since George Lucas’ spiral into insanity, nothing more than Star Wars games have been coming out.  Dead money horses are easy to beat.

Then a few years ago, a game came out from Doublefine productions, a company formed after Lucas Arts dropped anyone who had a shred of inginuity or creativity.  They created a game called Psychonauts. Read the rest of this entry »

Never heard of Telltale Games?  You should check them out.  If you’re a PC Gamer, I probably need only say the words Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle, Outlaws, Grim Fandango, and Monkey Island to you, and they will conjure of memories of some of the best ever PC adventure games.  They just don’t make them like that anymore, do they?  Sigh…

Oh wait, they do!

The roster of Telltales games great characters!

The roster of Telltales games great characters!

In 2004, Dan Connors and Kevin Bruner, who worked on those excellent games above, got tired of all the Star Wars nonsense and left LucasArts with a vision for a brand new type of interactive entertainment, and founded Telltale Games.

Five years later, Telltale has over 70 employees. In the time other developers take to create one game, we’ve put out more than twenty, featuring characters you know and love — Sam & Max, Strong Bad, Wallace & Gromit, and Bone. We’ve created games that are funny, creative, and have great stories. And since they’re episodic, you can actually finish them, and look forward to the next episode!

If you’re not familiar with episodic gaming, imagine games that are inexpensive, that you can beat in about 2-3 hours.  Hell, Gears of War cost me 60 bucks and I beat it in 4 hours.  But how much is Telltale charging for their episodes?  Are they $20, like that Ratchet and Clank one was for Playstation Network?

Hell no.  How about FIVE DOLLARS!  Five smackaroos!  And you don’t have to wait for no stupid box to come in the mail – you can download the game instantly!  Use the code below to get any episode you want on Telltale Games website for FIVE MEASLY DOLLARS!
