Does FIRST comics count as an indy? If so, I would love to see Dynamo Joe brought back. A manga influenced book from the early 80′s (before everything was manga influenced)with gorgeous artwork by Doug Rice. How can you beat giant robots?

Having just read the entire Necessary Evil game book from Savage Worlds, I think the indy comic I’d like to see would be based on that setting and might even follow the plot points in it. It would then combine two of my great loves, comics and table top role playing games.
NE also has a feel very similar to the old Strikeforce: Morituri, a horribly underrated comic by Marvel from the late 80′s.

I loved the idea of Indy Comic Book Week! I wanted to take part in it, but didn’t really have anything new to distribute at the time. Hopefully they’ll do it again sometime =)

I’ve been hearing a lot about The Possum from my buds at Indie Spinner Rack, so I’d love to check that out!

I did some reviews on several Indy Titles and I really liked “Arthur” and “The Horsemen” alot. I didn’t get to check out Solomon and a couple other Indy titles but I know they were probably really good. I saw a lot of great artwork in the titles and I think mosttitles had it’s little quirks but for the most part awesome comic. By participatig in this event I got a chance to learn a lot about the industry considering my very first comic ever released was “stolen blood”. Allthough it is a smaller mini comic the art work turned out really nice. It is a bit shy on story but the first issue is designed that way.

For the ‘what would you like to see’ contest…
I really dug Senryu and off the top of my head, I’d like to see another Indy comic very much like it but in full color. Maybe something that involves five or six artists rather than just one. A true blend of personal spiritual exploration and mesmerizing comic art.

And if you want, you can add a signed copy of my 36 hour, In Dreams, to the prize list.

My interest in Indy Comic week was sparked by the kids (Hah, yes Ic all them kids even though I think I am younger) at S.G. studios, (Vinh-Luan Luu, Jake Ekiss, and Matthew Warlick in particular). So my interest is mostly invested in what they put out:

1. Solomon Azua (I follow both Vinh and Jake on DA and they’ve been posting teasers for months)

2. Senryu: I follow Matthew on Facbook and he has posted a few sneek peeks here and there.

My local comic store actually closed up for the Indy comic week. With the economy the way it is and the fact that the holidays landed right in between the owners decided to go on vacation.

I was hoping to check out Solomon Azua last week, but it wasn’t one of the indy titles they had for Indy Comic Book Week. In fact, looking at the list above, I see only one or two titles that they had in the store.

By the way, of the ones I picked up, Green Monk was the most awesome.
