Funnybooks meet up at FtC3
by Aron on Mar.15, 2010, under Comics, Conventions, Funny Books with Aron & Paulie

From left to right: Aron, Tim, Jonathan, and Wayne. Not featured is Paul who was too full of fail to be present.
Four out of five hosts agree, Fear the Con 3 in St. Louis rocked!
For the first time, the four of us met face-to-face. Tim, Wayne, and Jonathan are just as great guys as you’d think they are. Truly, excellent fellows to call friends.
Paul was sorely missed, but I think we’ll get him to the next one.
Something that surprised me at the con was how much Funnybook love was shared. Many people pulled me aside telling me how much they enjoyed the show. I talked comics with lots and lots of new friends. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing it was!

Funnybooks with Aron and Paulie: Jeff Parker
by Aron on Feb.25, 2010, under Comics, Funny Books with Aron & Paulie, Marvel, New Comic Book Day Interviews, Podcasts
FULL DISCLOSURE: This is our second recording with Agents of Atlas Writer Jeff Parker. Our first interview with Jeff was awesome covering the full span of his admirable body of work. Where can you download that episode you ask? No where, that’s where!
Due to a colossal failure of technology and technician, we lost that episode (aka FailCast). Fortunately, Jeff Parker returned for a second review. And this time, we pushed RECORD.
THE SHOW: We talk about all kinds of cool stuff such as Fall of the Hulks, Agents of Atlas, The Uranian, reprints in Marvel Comics, sad comic conventions, the value of new ideas, Portland, mustaches, DC vs Marvel, Doctor Rape, his Image comic Underground and Parker’s upcoming stint as college professor. And much, much more.
This interview was one of the most enjoyable we’ve done. Parker’s a hoot. Thanks for your patience, Professor Parker.

Funnybooks with Aron and Paulie: Where’s Aron?
by Paul on Feb.15, 2010, under Comics, Funny Books with Aron & Paulie, Podcasts
In this week’s extraordinarily disorganized episode of Funnybooks, Paul, Wayne, and Jonathan talk about all manner of mildly interesting, and semi-comic book related, topics.
- Paul’s alcoholism
- Why Heroes sucks, but apparently Lost is good
- Jonathan keeps trying to convince people that Eddie Brock should be Spider-Man, Sentry is a cool character, and that X-Men: Second Coming is going to be good
- Wayne, for some reason, still likes X-Man
- X-Factor: Forever
- We try to figure out who the hell the Secret Avengers are going to be, and mock the new Avengers line-up
- We chat a lot about all of the recent Marvel announcements
- And, most importantly, we try to figure out where the hell Aron is.
All this, plus midget strippers, Lois Lane in a Wonder Woman costume, and why X-Men: Second Coming should happen at least a half hour after the first one.
Please note that, due to our editor being plastered, the recording actually goes on past the ending of the episode, and you hear us ramble on about next week’s comics, and once more talk about Spider-Man: The Gauntlet – a rare look into the mind of some madmen.
